Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Burundi and Transfer to the Hotel

Meet and greet at in Bujumbura Airport where your Adventure Safari starts by our representative who will warmly welcome you and facilitate seamless arrival formalities. You will then be transferred the Rocca Hotel for Resting after your Flight

Day2: Bujumbura City/Cultural Tour

Enjoy the site viewings After Breakfast, you will follow amazing view to Burundi’s second largest City Gitega; this is well known for its Traditional drum and shrines which are traditionally associated with Black Africa and it is a symbol of Burundi – Mwami meaning the beat of drums to the principles of ruling the kingdom. – We will proceed to Gishora to listen to the Traditional concert of mesmerizing sounds.

Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park-Optional Canopy Walk

After a relaxed breakfast transfer to the Rwandan border for your next tour in Rwanda, driving through Nyungwe Forest, the largest forest in Rwanda, with a chance of seeing the blue monkeys on the way. Have an optional Canopy walk in the afternoon.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe Forest-Transfer to Bukavu.

After breakfast go for chimp trekking, also a chance to spot other forest primates, birds and butterflies. Rwanda chimpanzee experiential safari is one of our most magical and most liked safaris as it gives a great encounter of chimpanzees in the land of a thousand hills. Later transfer to Volcanoes National Park for an overnight stay.

Day 5: Gorilla Tracking in Kauzi Beige National Park

After breakfast transfer to Kauzi beige National Park for the Gorilla trekking, later in the evening return back to Bukavu for an overnight.

Day 6: Leisure Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

On this early morning you will encounter on the most spectacular scenic drive on the escarpment above Lake Kivu heading to Musanze in the north of Rwanda and spend the night at the most beautiful place view of the volcanoes.

Day7:Trek Dianne Fosey Grave -Cross Border to Drive to Uganda.

Volcanoes National Park is part of the Virunga Mountains, covering 3 countries: Uganda, Rwanda and Congo. Trek to the Dian Fossey Tomb(Optional) is one of the most sought after safari activities carried out while visiting Volcanoes national park, The trek takes about an hour and a half and affords good views of forest hogs, forest elephants, a variety of primates and bird species.

This hike is an incredible experience physically, emotionally and intellectually. It is so inspiring to learn about someone who was so dedicated and left a legacy that exists even today. After the Hike, Transfer to Uganda through the Cyanika Border to lake Mutanda.

Day8: Gorilla Trekking Experience

After an early breakfast depart to the starting point for briefing about your gorilla trekking adventure after which you will be led by experienced gorilla trackers in Bwindi Forest. You will start from the site where the gorillas were encountered the day before and from here the gorilla tracking begins. Although the hike can be physically demanding, the anticipation of the exciting experience ahead is amazing, and the beauty of the gorilla forest and its inhabitants are fascinating. One of Africa’s major highlights is when you encounter these gentle apes.

It is a humbling experience to stand just meters from man’s distant cousins as they eat rest, play and bond with their young ones. Follow the mountain gorillas as they range freely in the impenetrable forest, and discover their gorgeous natural habitual and the many species they share it with. You are allowed an hour with the gorillas before finally sloping down back to your lodge. If your trek was relatively short, you may have a guided nature walk around the lodge and the surrounding communities in the evening. Return to the lodge where you will enjoy dinner with your fellow travelers before getting a good night’s rest for tomorrow’s safari adventure.

Day 9: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Have a relaxed Breakfast and later embark on a journey to the Famous Queen Elizabeth National Park through the Beautiful Terraced Hills of South Western Uganda. Arrive in the Evening and time allowing, you will engage in an evening Game drive.

Day10: Morning Guided Game Drive and Amblient Private Boat Safari

Queen Elizabeth National Park’s diverse eco-system of grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife. Have an early morning game drive where you have an opportunity to view the massive Rwenzori as backdrop, which provides excellent opportunities to spot lion, leopard, giant forest hog, Cape buffalo, elephant, defassa waterbuck, Uganda Kob, topi and bushbuck. The game drives and the boat trip (taken prior) are memorable methods of discovering a vast array of Ugandan wildlife. Be sure to have your camera ready for these amazing sightings.

After lunch take a unique 2-hour Private boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel into Lake Edward. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of hippos and this launch/cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous, with well over 550 resident species.

Day11: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Depart Queen Elizabeth and head towards Kibale National Park via Kasese. This journey will be rewarded with stunning Views passing through small villages and local markets. The Fort Portal area rests in the shadow of the fabled “Mountains of the Moon” and is famous for the many tea plantations. From this lovely town you will continue to the dense forest of Kibale National Park.

Day12: Chimpanzee Tracking and Afternoon Bigodi Swamp walk

After breakfast transfer to the starting point of your Chimpanzee tracking experience in Kibale Forest National Park. Kibale is the best reserve in Africa to view chimpanzees in thick jungle with a towering canopy. The forest is reputable of having the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. The most famous of its 13 species is the Chimpanzee, man’s closest relative. Kibale’s 1450 Chimpanzees represent Uganda’s largest population of this endangered primate.

Day13: Drive to Kampala and Departure.

Transfer to Kampala. Make a brief city visit or go for shopping for curios if time permits. Transfer to Entebbe international airport in time for your departure flight.
